Users review: I'm just shocked at all the negative reviews by pseudo-intellectuals say that the picture is very flawed, incomprehensible, devoid of any merit and disabled, cite a few. What were you expecting it? A remake of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Sure, I'm not going to pretend the film does not have many glaring weaknesses. Plot is hardly original; implementation is even more encouraging. Roland Emmerich goes out of their way to use every cliche in the book, over-emotional, weak, flat lighting, incredible jumps in logic and reasoning team viewer and use special effects to overcome these disadvantages. But what some reviewers seem lost, and that which justified the enormous popularity of the movie, is the heart. Film has too many hearts. It makes you feel good after watching it. And although the quality is not to make it a great film, it certainly makes a good movie in my book. Film is hugely entertaining, exciting, joy for the eyes with stunning special effects, and even has some dialogue that rise just above the hackneyed source. Acting is enough for everyone and not pull off a good performance, but some do wonderful job with what they have to work with. Judd Hirsch easy work out both his Jewish colleagues father a gift for common sense and lack of tact. Jeff also gives a decent performance as Goldbar his son. Yes, Will Smith Will Smith just .. many one-liners and little meat, so to speak. But it was bearable. Watch Brent spines daring role as a hippie scientist. His performance was a real hoot! If you are looking for a philosophical science fiction, this is not it. Starship Troopers look (great movie). It's just good old Americans against the fabric of the universe, a lot of action, but little substance. But whatever it can have its drawbacks, it is a happy, happy, sad, fascinating, enjoyable movie to watch ... time and time again. |
